Anna Sobol-Wejman and Stanisław Wejman belong to a group of outstanding Polish graphic artists, a generation that debuted in the late sixties and early seventies, a breakthrough generation still embedded in the Kraków metaphor, but searching for its own creative path. For both artists, discovering individual graphic concepts on formal-stylistic, thematic and workshop levels was a process that the exhibition reveals the results of.

I present to you in this album a selection of photographs that I arrange into my personal path, my personal journey. Through countries, landscapes and places, but mostly through my way of thinking about photography. Photography gives me freedom, as does travel. I always take pictures when I travel. I never leave without my camera, I just couldn’t do it. As the years go by I simplify my art, since I have realised I know less and less. More and more consciously I reject thinking, I try to keep my head empty
when taking pictures. I trust my intuition more and more.

We would like to present you with this unique album that was made out of love towards Bydgoszcz and the waterway traditions of the city. The publication contains over 150 unique photographs, both archival and contemporary, which present places and people connected to waterways. Water is a “city-building element”, telling our story which takes place on the Brda, the Vistula and the Bydgoszcz Canal.

The guide in English to both permanent archeological exhibitions of the Leon Wyczółkowski Regional Museum in Bydgoszcz was written having in mind foreign scientists, archeology aficionados and tourists visiting our Museum on the Młyńska Island. Preceded by a uniform introduction, it contains two integral parts of guides in Polish that were published earlier. Editing required significant supplements, related to updating and making the exhibitions more attractive.
